Abstract

|
|
The present study was undertaken to investigate the effect of neurotensin on pentagastrin induced gastric acid secretion in rats. The study groups were divided into three; control, pentagastrin, pentagastrin plus neurotensin. We observed volume of gastric juice and titratable acid output in each groups.
The following results were obtaiend;
1) Both pentagastrin and pentagastrin plus neurotensin groups were not noted significant difference in the volume of gastric juice compared with that of control.
2) The titratable gastric acid output of pentagastrin group most increased at 45 minute after injection and then gradually decreased. In the pentagastrin plus neurotensin group, significantly decreased gastric acid output was noted at 45 minute after injection compared
with that of pentagastrin group.
